Prep Time 20 minutes
Total Time 40 minutes
Servings 8 servings

Ingredients

  • 1 lb. refrigerated pizza dough
  • Egg wash 1 egg whisked with 1 tbsp water
  • 7 mozzarella sticks
  • 1/4 c. melted butter
  • 1/2 c. finely grated Parmesan
  • 1 tbsp. Thinly sliced basil
  • 1 tbsp. chopped parsley
  • 1 tbsp. chopped rosemary
  • Marinara warmed (for serving)

Instructions

  • Begin by preheating the oven to 450° and lining a large baking sheet with parchment paper. Take mozzarella sticks and cut them into 1” pieces, setting them aside for later.
  • On a surface dusted with flour, split the pizza dough into two portions. Stretch and roll each piece into a long rectangle, then cut the dough into 2” squares, totaling 33 pieces.
  • Wrap each mozzarella piece with a dough square, ensuring a tight seal. Arrange the balls seam-side down on the baking sheet to form the shape of a Christmas tree, making sure they touch. Apply an egg wash to the dough balls and bake until they turn a golden color, approximately 15 to 20 minutes.
  • While the pizza balls are baking, whisk together melted butter, Parmesan, and herbs. Once the pizza balls are out of the oven, brush this mixture onto them. Serve the warm, cheesy Christmas tree pull-apart bread with marinara for dipping.

Notes

The tree can be made using any shape! I used Triangles.
